Nathan Lewis

Nathan began his career working as a project manager and detailer for a West Virginia-based steel fabrication company. His responsibilities included direct involvement in design projects of all sizes from concept through the erection process. It was in this role that he learned to prioritize manufacturability and how to effectively manage various projects -- and their respective deadlines -- simultaneously.

He moved to Colorado in the summer of 2019 for his then-fiancée's job and began working as a product engineer in Frederick, CO. His responsibilities shifted from a focus in project management to an emphasis in electro-mechanical system design. He maintained multiple legacy systems while owning the research, design, and testing of a new unit from cradle to production. He also had the opportunity to interface with prospective clients and their respective customers to ensure the final product met their expectations.

After two years in this role, Nathan established his own company and began his work as an independent contractor and business owner. Since the start of Blue Dog Seventy Six in 2020, Nathan has broadened his design capabilities and gained experience in various new facets of engineering. He has worked with the system design of flow cytometers, stem cell processors, and other medical devices. Additionally, he has contributed to patent design review, reverse engineering processes, and has consulted on design for both additive and subtractive manufacturing. Finally, he expanded the business's portfolio to include in-house FDM and SLA 3-D printing and rapid prototyping to continue to serve current and future customers.

Nathan lives in Windsor, CO with his now-wife, Emily, and their two pups. He volunteers as the head wrestling coach for a local middle school and is grateful for the opportunity to coach young athletes as they learn to love the sport that he grew up with and become respectful young adults.
